Eyes on the Week (21st-25th April)

It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve been completely obsessed with Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 and every free moment went into playing it. This is the best turn-based RPG combat I’ve played in… probably forever? and it has an emotional story to tell, characters you instantly connect with, gorgeous art that oozes creative design and the soundtrack is so memorable I’ll be humming these tunes until I’m wheeling around the retirement home. It’s on Xbox Game Pass now, so what the hell are you waiting for?! Check my review [HERE] to discover why I gave it a rare 100/100 score.

Most interesting news of this week: I think we have our Game of the Year (it’ll give Blue Prince a run for its money)

Looking forward to playing: Isn’t it obvious?

This week I tried a few games I’ve already played by myself and with friends, with my girlfriend: Party AnimalsGoldenEye 007Overcooked, and Enter the Gungeon.

Also, I played some Overwatch 2 on my new notebook and really enjoyed playing on PC. I still need to get used to the controls though as I’m used to playing on Xbox.

Finally, I played a bit of Resident Evil 2 Remake, as I’m playing as Claire in a 2nd run.

Most interesting news of this week: The release of Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Looking forward to playing: More Resident Evil 2 Remake and Overwatch 2.

I started this week with LEGO Bricktales. What an awesome game in which you build solutions for all kinds of problems! I enjoyed it a lot!

Next on my schedule was Underquest, a challenging inventory management auto-battle game. I had a lot of fun, but the achievements are challenging.

I decided recently to try to unlock one achievement each day or so in Mini Motorway. It is such a lovely game, and since its launch in 2021, there has been so much added content.

Last but not least… Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. What an amazing game! I was blown away in the first 30 minutes, when the game managed to pull my heartstrings, and I cried so hard but in a wonderful way. The music, the artwork, the story… it is all just so beautiful! Sadly my computer is a bit too old for it. I’m in the process of buying a new one… so for now, I put my playthrough on hold as you can only experience such a remarkable story once. I would love to be able to do that on higher graphics settings to fully enjoy all that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has to offer.

Most interesting news of this week: Clair Oscur: Expedition 33 sold over 500k copies within 24 hours! I’m glad to see so many people are enjoying this beautiful game.

Looking forward to playing: More Mini Motorways and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I finished South of Midnight last weekend, and I absolutely had a blast with it from start to finish. It’s a visual treat, with stunning graphics, incredible music, and top-notch voice acting, all wrapped in a deep and intriguing story.

After that, I started playing Steel Seed, a stealth action-adventure game set in a dark, sci-fi world where humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. Keep an eye out for my review coming soon.

I’ve also been playing a newly released game called Space Smash — a retro-style, fast-paced, and addictive shoot ’em up. You collect blue orbs to expand the play area and avoid red orbs, which shrink it, all while blasting enemy spaceships. For its budget price, it’s a great pick-up-and-play title when you’ve got a few spare minutes.

Most interesting news of this week: Remedy Entertainment has announced that FBC: Firebreak, a three-player PvE spin-off, will launch on PC and consoles on June 17th, with promises of substantial post-launch support.

Looking forward to playing: More Steel Seed and starting Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I’ve been playing a lot of old-school Diablo recently for some reason, sometimes I just take a notion for some retro goodness. Also checked out Crime Scene Cleaner on Xbox Games Pass to see if it could hold up a candle to the amazing Power Wash Simulator but that might be a bit unfair, it’s actually more like Visceral Clean Up Detail which I used to love playing. Other than that I am looking forward to the Until Dawn movie release, I hope they don’t dumb it down!

Most interesting news of this week: Our very own Robby gave an extremely coveted 100/100 score to Clair Obscure: Expedition 33!

Looking forward to playing: Cloudheim.
