It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week was my mum’s birthday and we went out for afternoon tea, which was lovely, to celebrate. They even managed to make my sandwiches vegetarian and all the cakes too which I didn’t expect!
In the gaming world, it was another week of Dead by Daylight but thankfully, Chaos Shuffle is back! I can finally have fun without going again the meta builds back to back. The Witcher collaboration is out now for those who want to play as Geralt, Yennifer or Trish. I’ve finally got all the killers I own to Prestige 3 so I’m back to spending my bloodpoints on survivors. One day I will get the courage to play killer – I even compiled a spreadsheet of all the achievements I’m missing. All that being said, the games haven’t been great with us both either being found first almost every game or being tunnelled so it might go on the back burner again until the anniversary event starts later this month.
After playing The Other Side of the Moon FMV with Lewis on his account, I decided to pull up a guide quickly and got this game completed on my profile. Personally, of all the FMV titles out there, I think this one has to be one of the worst.
Me and Lewis finished our second playthrough of It Takes Two and I can safely say, I prefer it to It Takes Two to Split Fiction. I just prefer the relationship story over the other. Don’t get me wrong – Split Fiction is still a terrific game!
As a game to play when Dead by Daylight gets a little too triggering, Roboquest has become our second port of call. It’s a fast-paced FPS with Roguelite elements where you clear enemies in randomly generated areas, pick up new weapons and upgrade as you go. The game does feel pretty difficult, so we’re dreading the harder difficulties, but right now, it’s enjoyable and something different for us to invest in.
Finally, on Friday, I started Nexomon. It’s a Pokémon-like game where you capture Nexomon, battle tamers, and take on legendary champions! As I’ve only played a few hours, there isn’t much more I can say but I’m excited to play more and make my team of Nexomon stronger!
Most interesting news of this week: Summer Game Fest was pretty decent. My top four games announced have to be Code Vein II, Resident Evil Requiem, Ill and Stranger Than Heaven. Plus, we also have the Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to on Sunday!
Looking forward to playing: Dead by Daylight and Roboquest are a definite. I may continue my playthrough of SCHiM and/or start something new.

Hello, I’ve had a little time to play this week & although Switch 2 is sitting proudly in front of my TV, my main game this week (& will continue to be) is Elden Ring Nightreign. I loved Elden Ring, & despite my reservations about how this would play, I’m pleasantly surprised at just how fun & addictive it is.
Dropping in with friends feels like this should have already been a thing in the main game. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s a great spin on the souls-like game genre, & yet it’s still tough. Clearly, the team have compensated for the damage dealt & the way the bosses interact with you given you can now have three people attacking the same enemy. Things feel dialed up to 11 but I’m all for it.
So far I’ve eliminated 3 of the main bosses & also done some of the solo side quests that unlock new characters & costumes. It’s great, I’m having a harder time putting it down though.
Just because I was able to, I also got in about an hour of Mario Kart World on the Switch 2, & about an hour on Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2 also. Both are very good, but when you are a father of 3, unfortunately, the goods get taken from you to appease the masses, which means my time with it was indeed short. Perhaps I’ll get some time with it over the weekend? Here’s hoping.
Most interesting news of this week: Switch 2 launch! Did you hear about it?
Looking forward to playing: More Elden Ring Nightreign & Cyberpunk 2077.

I wasn’t able to play much of anything this week. However, I did manage to play a little bit of Monster Train, some Baldur’s Gate III, and a tiny bit of Resident Evil 4 Remake again.
I’m trying to unlock the clan from The Last Divinity DLC on Monster Train, but so far I haven’t been able to win a run on Covenant. Baldur’s Gate III Spoiler alert! – Me and my friends just managed to beat Raphael and it probably took us about 2 hours. I just beat chapter 9 on Resident Evil 4 Remake, aka Ashley’s chapter.
Most interesting news of this week: The Switch 2 launch but also a few announcements on State of Play such as: The gameplay trailer for IOI’s 007 and Marvel Tokon, Monster Train, and Baldur’s Gate III.
Looking forward to playing: More Resident Evil 4 Remake.

This week, I’ve continued playing Trident’s Tale. My thoughts in a review should be ready by the time you’re reading this.
I had a few friends over for pizza and some gaming. We played Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, which was a lot of fun. We did split-screen with bots as well. It’s available on Game Pass Ultimate too.
The only other game I’ve played a little of this week is Apex Legends. I wanted to try Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but I couldn’t find the time, so I think I’ll have to come back to that later.
Most interesting news of this week: Capcom has officially unveiled the next terrifying chapter in its iconic survival horror franchise: Resident Evil: Requiem. Set to launch in February 2026, this highly anticipated instalment promises to push the series to chilling new heights.
Looking forward to playing: Crypt Custodian, MindsEye and checking out SplitGate 2.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
